Mission
Founded on the belief of V’Ahavta L’Reacha Kamocha (love your neighbor as yourself), The Friendship Circle is dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive community for all children with special needs and their families, along with our teen volunteers.
Since 2003, The Friendship Circle has accomplished its mission by:
matching teen volunteers to children with special needs and their familiescreating programs inspired by core Jewish values, traditions and culture for children with special needs that are open to all regardless of religion and ethnicity, offered by caring adults and trained peerscreating a sense of responsibility and connection to the Jewish community through enriching educational and social opportunities for volunteersproviding workshops, lectures, programs and parties for parents of children with special needsVision
We envision a world in which people with special needs and their families experience acceptance, inclusion and friendship as contributing members of society.
The Friendship Circle aims to create an environment for teens that will nurture a sense of connection to and responsibility for the greater community through innovative and stimulating programs. We see this as essential for developing and producing the leaders of tomorrow.
